Shooting begins mid October in Volterra on “Medici”, the international series produced by Lux Vide: this third season, directed by Canadian Christian Duguay, recounts the historic period related to the conflict between Florence and Pope Sixtus IV (1478- 1480) during which Lorenzo the Magnificent reinforced his internal and international prestige, splitting the anti-Florentine coalition and keeping the forces of the Republic united, thus indissolubly linking his name to the period of maximum splendor of the Renaissance.
The set will then move on to Pienza and Castelfiorentino in Tuscany for around 5 weeks. The cast includes Daniel Sherman (Lorenzo the Magnificent), Sarah Parish (Lucrezia de’ Medici) and Alessandra Mastronardi (Lucrezia Donati).

Two German films, for cinema and for television, have chosen Tuscany in the early fall and the executive production service for both will be handled by Viola Film: the theatrical feature-length movie “Il Caso Collini” (Constantin Film) will be filmed for a week from mid October in Montecatini, Val di Cecina, Monteriggioni and Pisa.
Based on the novel of the same name by the famous German author, Ferdinand von Schirach, the film narrates a mysterious case of homicide set in 1944 during the Second World War.
The cast includes Franco Nero and the famous German actor Elyas M’Barek.
The protagonists of the TV movie for ZDF “Ein Sommer in der Toskana” (A summer in Tuscany) are also celebrities in Germany: Wolke Hegenbarth plays the gossip columnist Laura Hansen who discovers a company adopting illegal employment practices and falls in love with the proprietor (Kerem Kan).
It was filmed at the end of September in Lucca (Piazza Napoleone, Palazzo Ducale and the Local Food Market in via S. Paolino), Pisa and Prato.

Cinzia Th Torrini has returned to Tuscany for the second tranche of filming on “Pezzi Unici”, the series that maximizes the excellences of Tuscan craftsmanship, produced by Indiana Production for Raifiction, starring Sergio Castellitto, together with Giorgio Panariello, Irene Ferri, Marco Cocci and Katia Beni. The 6 episodes will be aired in 2019 on RaiUno.
