Both the public and the jury were in agreement about “Un Cuento Chino” (A Chinese Story), the movie by Argentina’s Sebastià¡n Borensztein, that won the sixth edition of the Rome Film Festival.

Maya Sansa collected the Grand Jury Prize for “See how they dance “, due to the absence of director Claude Miller.

The best actors were Noomi Rapace, from the anguished thriller “Babycall” by Pà¥l Sletaune, and Guillaume Canet, for his role in the dramatic “Une vie meilleure” by Cédric Kahn.

“Girl Model” by David Redmon and Ashley Sabin, about the exploitation of young 13-17 year old female models, won the prize for the best documentary in the L’Altro Cinema | Extra section.

There were two awards in the “Alice in the City” section, the jury of which was made up of children selected from schools and the audience: the Ecuadorian “En el nombre de la hija” by Tania Hermida P. (for the under 13 category) and the Belgian “North Sea Texas” by Bavo Dedurne (for the over 13s).

The Marc’Aurelio Emerging Talent award was shared equally between “Circumstance” by Maryam Keshavarz and “La Brindille” by Emmanuelle Millett.

Two new awards were introduced this year: the Special Jury Award, which went to Fred Schepisi’s “The Eye of the Storm”, and the Jury Award for the best original score, which was presented to “Hotel Lux” by Ralf Wengermayr.

“Un Cuento Chino” will be released in Italy (with the title “Cosa piove dal cielo?”) in 2012, distributed by Vania Traxler’s Archibald Film, that also brought the winner of last year’s Festival, “Kill me Please”, to movie theaters and, more recently, Sokurov’s “Faust”, winner of this year’s Golden Lion award in Venice.

The Marc’Aurelio Acting Award was presented to Richard Gere.
