Another new production venture is Orchid Pictures, funded by Suzanne Mackie, Executive producer of the Netflix hit series “The Crown”, who has left “The Crown” producer Left Bank Pictures after 12 years to start her own company that, according to Variety, seems to have also struck an exclusive deal with Netflix. During her Keynote (Tuesday April 13 at 6.00 p.m. CEST) she will receive the Variety International Achievement in TV Award.
A+E Networks is the recipient of the second annual MIP SDG Award with which Reed MIDEM, supporting the United Nations and in line with the Decade of Action for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), honors media companies for their actions and contributions to delivering the Sustainable Development Goals. This year’s award will be dedicated to Goal #10 – Reduced Inequalities and will be presented to Paul Buccieri, President of A+E Networks, in a dedicated online event on Thursday April 15 featuring “Good Morning America” anchor Robin Roberts as well as the UN’s Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications, Melissa Fleming.
