The Business Street, the Rome Film Festival’s select trade section, has now reached the third edition which is characterized by consolidation and a promising rate of growth.
Backed by the presence of all the Italian exporters, as well as the main foreign companies “” there will be a considerable number of French buyers and sellers, including Wild Bunch, Memento Film, Celluloid Dreams, Les Films du Losange and Pyramide “”on the eve of the event the curator Diamara Parodi Delfino is already satisfied with the encouraging signs.
“Our business activities are growing”, she says.
“With regard to accreditation, we have already confirmed the number of participants registered in past years and, seeing as there are still a few more days left in which to register, we are counting on a rise in attendance figures.
In any case, there will be around 500 buyers and sellers in Rome from Italy and abroad”.
One of the most important new features of The Business Street is the expansion of the areas reserved for trading which will no longer be limited to the terrace of the Hotel Bernini Bristol but will now also occupy the entire first floor of the Hotel Majestic, “which will host meetings, press conferences, , “˜B to B’ and information days”, explains Parodi. “Last year, the CRC “” Capital Regions for Cinema co-production meetings organized by the Roma & Lazio Film Commission went very well.
We are using that experience for this edition too, which will include the first “CineCampus “” Cinema lessons”: four days of master classes and workshops that represent a special opportunity for established professionals “” including Matteo Garrone and Margarethe Von Trotta “” to meet with young talents, offering them an international level training experience”.
From the Hortii Sallustiani, where it was held at the first two editions, this year the traditional TBS conference is moving to the Auditorium, the heart of the festival which, on 27th October, will host the API meeting “World Going Digital”. Subsequently the “Stati Generali del Cinema “” The Estates General of Cinema” will be held, for the first time this year, with moments dedicated to the Italian film system Law, Copyright and Piracy.
From 27th “” 30th October, thanks to an agreement with Luiss, the new “Master’s Degree in Cinematic and Television Production Management” will be presented, of which The Business Street is a partner entrusted with promotional as well as some teaching activities”.
It would be impossible to list all the events at the Roman Market, but of particular importance is the Tax Shelter initiative which involves the presence of an information desk in the lounge of the Auditorium and a closed door workshop on 22nd October.
