The sixth edition of the Roma Fiction Fest directed by Steve Della Casa, organized by the Regione Lazio, the Chamber of Commerce of Rome, Sviluppo Lazio and the Italian Television Producers Association (APT), closed with very positive results. From September 30th to October 5th the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome welcomed around 23,000 visitors, a 10% increase compared to last year’s edition. More than 300 stars of Italian and international TV dramas appeared on the pink carpet of the Roma Fiction Fest including: Gillian Anderson, Kristin Bauer, Melissa George, Kelsey Grammer, Luca Argentero, Caterina Murino, Giuseppe Fiorello, David S. Goyer, Alexander Skarsgard, Valentina Cervi and Michele Placido.
There were many Italian TV dramas – with awards going to the TV movie “Paolo Borsellino. I 57 giorni” produced by Leone Cinematografica for Rai Fiction, the mini-series “Il sogno del maratoneta” produced by Casanova Multimedia for Rai Fiction, and the long-running series “Una grande famiglia” produced by Magnolia Fiction for Rai Fiction, to name just a few. Plus the international premiers of some of BBC Worldwide’s top productions such as “Ripper Street” and “Great Expectations” .
BBC Worldwide Day and Argentina Day were dedicated to the world of professionals and gave Italian producers a chance to learn more about these production organizations. Over 200 professionals took part in the two conferences organized by the Associazione Produttori Televisivi (APT): “Public resources for drama in Europe and the main European countries” in collaboration with Eurovisioni and “The Digital Agenda for the development of cultural content”, organized by Confindustria Cultura Italia.
