It’s particularly interesting offering of television products this year from Rai Com, the Italian public broadcaster’s division for trading in content rights that is presenting a full-bodied line-up at Mipcom led by two titles: “My brilliant friend” and “The name of the rose”.
The TV series “The Name of the Rose” (50 million copies of Umberto Eco’s bestselling book sold worldwide, translated into 40 languages) has a budget of € 26 million for 8 episodes and an international cast including John Turturro and Rupert Everett, over 300 actors and a troupe of over 200 people with two production units engaged in one of the biggest achievements of the last thirty years in Cinecittà.
Rai Com handles the sales in CIS+CEE territories in association with TM International worldwide distribution. Delivery of the series is scheduled for early 2019.
The TV series “My brilliant Friend”, 8 episodes adapted from the novels by the mysterious Elena Ferrante (over 10 million copies sold worldwide) was acclaimed by both the public and critics at the 75th Venice Film Festival.
