PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE IS 20 YEARS OLD

Celebrating the 20th edition of EFP Producers on the Move at the Cannes Film Festival, EFP (European Film Promotion) will be presenting 20 up-and- coming producers from throughout Europe.
The enterprising young filmmakers have qualified for the high-profile program by producing award-winning feature films in their home country and having first experiences of international coproductions.

Right from the start of the program in 2000, Italian producers – Tilde Corsi (R&C Produzioni) was the first – have been selected every year for Producers on the Move.
In 2019, Nadia Trevisan (Nefertiti Film) was nominated by Istituto Luce Cinecittà – Filmitalia.
She produced the Locarno Competition title “Menocchio” (2018) and also joined forces with Rok Secen (Producer on the Move 2018) to coproduce “History of Love” (2018).
Next up is “Small Body” directed by Laura Samani.
The project already won awards at the Torino Film Lab and When East Meets West in Trieste.
Trevisan will pitch upcoming projects looking for coproducer among her colleagues from all over Europe.

Like Jon Nohrstedt, a producer at the renowned SF Studios in Stockholm, who oversaw the production of “Borg vs. McEnroe” starring Sverrir Gudnason, Shia LeBeouf and Stellan Skarsgård, among many others.

Another producer from Scandinavia joining this year’s line-up is Nina Bisgaard of Copenhagen’s Meta Films with the multiple award-winning “Border” by Ali Abbasi in her portfolio.

Joe Penna’s “Arctic” has just been released in the cinemas and is already a big hit at the box office: Icelandic filmmaker Lilja Snorradóttir (Pegasus Films) coproduced the big screen adventure featuring Mads Mikkelsen.

Mila Turajlic (Dribbling Pictures), who specializes in auteur-driven docu- mentary films, realized the first HBO Europe coproduction with Serbia, the award-winning “The Other Side of Everything”.

Emily Morgan (Quiddity Films) was named both Outstanding Debut Producer at the 2018 BAFTAs as well as Breakthrough Producer at the British Independent Film Awards for the highly acclaimed “I Am Not a Witch”.

By selecting such distinguished producers to foster international coproductions and promote their work to the film industry at the Cannes Film Festival over the past 20 years, EFP has created a network of 400 producers, many of whom becoming long-term coproduction partners like Labina Mitevska (North Macedonia) and Zdenka Gold (Croatia), who met at EFP Producers on the Move in 2013, returned to the Cannes Film Festival with “Sieranevada” along with fellow participant Anca Puiu in 2016, and celebrated the premiere of “God Exists, Her Name is Petrunya” at this year’s Berlin International Film Festival.
