337 productions have been made in Piedmont over the last ten years with the support of the Torino Piemonte Film Commission.
Despite the sector crisis, 2009 ended on a positive note for the region: it is estimated that audiovisual investment in the territory was well above 30 million Euros.
Three important sets welcomed in the new year in Piedmont.
Filming will soon be completed on the two part animated TV series for Mediaset, “Due Mamme di troppo”, directed by Antonello Grimaldi. Filmed in Vigna Chinet, the Porta Palazzo market, various private apartments and shops around Turin, the cartoon is produced by Italian Media Service.
Shooting began on 9th November and ended in January on “La Solitudine dei Numeri Primi”, a feature film based on the bestseller by Paolo Giordano and directed by Saverio Costanzo in the Valentino Park, the city center and the Sestriere. The protagonists include Alba Rohrwacher, Isabella Rossellini and Luca Marinelli (production: Offside). From December 2nd, Moncalieri, the church located in San Pietro in Vincoli, and various apartments around the city have provided the sets for the docu-thriller by Louis Nero, “Rasputin” (7 weeks of filming). Between February and March, Carignano, Novi Ligure, Turin and the Abbey of Sant’Antonio di Ranverso will be the locations for “Il Campione e il Bandito” by Ludovico Gasparini, a TV series for Rai Uno starring Beppe Fiorello and produced by Mario Rossigni’s Red Film.
