SOUTH TYROL/ A TV Series Workshop
Filming is in progress in South Tyrol on two feature movies for cinema, both of which are beneficiaries of the BLS Fund.
“Lucy in the sky” by Giuseppe Petitto, filmed in Vipiteno, produced by Martha Production, in co-production with Gustav Film, Ventura Film and in collaboration with Rai Cinema, received funding of 200,000 Euros. The cast includes Antonia liskova and Andreas Stadeler. Bolzano, Merano, Caldaro, Bressanone and Vilpiano provide the locations for“Outside the Box” by Philip Koch, produced by Walker + Worm Film, in co-production with South Tyrol’s Echo Film, which received support amounting to 400,000 Euros.
The RACCONTI#3 pitch will be held on October 20th, in Rome, during the Rome International Film Festival’s Business Street (October 17th -26th).
This year the BlS television writing workshop will be organized in the form of a Writer’s Room. during the pitch, the 7 writers will present to an audience of producers the projects for television series set in Alto Adige aimed at the Italian and German markets, on which they have worked individually, as well as the treatment of the TV detective series “The Valley”, written collectively inside the Writers’ Room along with Head Writers, Giacomo Durzi, Daniel Speck and Tom Schlesinger, under the supervision of Roberto Amoroso, creative director of Sky Italia Producers interested in developing one of the projects presented can request pre-production funding from the BlS Fund.

THE FILM FUND
Fund Allocation: 5 million Euros per year.
Type of works funded: Cinema/TV movies/Series/documentaries
Amounts contributed: Funding for productions of up to a maximum of 1.5 million Euros per project.
Funding of pre-production and script development for a maximum of 50,000 Euros per project.
Principal conditions for accessing contributions: Expenditure in the region of at least 150% of the contribution; exceptions can be made for projects with a strong cultural reference to Alto Adige.
Terms for presenting projects: three dates per year.

FVG/A new Fund From 2015
Filming on “Uno per tutti” by Mimmo Calopresti will start in Trieste on October 20th and continue for 5 weeks. The movie, produced by Minerva Film, stars Isabella Ferrari, Giorgio Panariello and Thomas Trabacchi. Iranian film-maker, Amir Naderi, is due to arrive in November. His new movie, “The Mountain”, will be set in the Vajont Valley, in Erto and Casso. and stars Maya Sansa and Andrea Sartoretti. Produced by Citrullo International, filming will last for 4 weeks.
The Friuli Venezia Giulia Film Commission has launched the new Film Fund regulations which will come into force from January 2015.

THE FILM FUND
Fund Allocation: 1,000,000 Euros per year.
Type of works funded: Cinema/ TV movies and series/Web works/ documentaries, shorts, music videos.
Amounts contributed: Features and TV series, animated features for a maximum of 200,000 Euros.
documentaries, shorts, music videos for a maximum of 30,000 Euros.
Principal conditions for accessing contributions: Expenditure in the region of at least 150% of the contribution granted. Hiring of 30% of the crew on site.
Terms for presenting projects: three dates per year.

TRENTINO/ Bringing a “Forest of Ice” to Rome
“The Ice Forest”, Claudio Noce’s second movie, in competition at the Rome Film Festival, was filmed entirely in Trentino with the support of the Trentino Film Commission: it is a noir movie (the setting is the Malga Bissina dam, in Val di daone, at the foot of the peaks of the Adamello Group), and features actor and director Emir Kusturica, who is starring in an Italian movie for the first time, Ksenia Rappoport and Adriano Giannini.
Last September, director Cinzia Th Torrini filmed part of the 2 episode TV drama “Anna&Yusuf” starring Vanessa Incontrada, produced by Italian International Film, in Trento. Also in September, director Catalin Mitulescu completed filming in Trentino on “Rumeno”, a feature movie starring Ada Condeescu, produced by Strada Film.
In November/december, Zodiak Active will be arriving in the region to produce the talent show “Hotel Academy” for discovery: filming will last for six weeks. location hunting has been completed for “Il traduttore”, the feature produced by Kalitera, directed by Massimo Natale, starring Claudia Gerini and Rutger Hauer. Filming will start in January and last for five weeks.

Amounts contributed: Features and TV series for a maximum of 200,000 Euros.

Terms for presenting projects: three dates per year.
