MONDO TV/Angel’s Friends becomes a Movie

Big innovations from Mondo Tv, the group which produces and distributes cartoons for TV and cinema in Europe, owned by the Corradi family.
We will be bringing three new products to MipTV which are perfectly integrated into the various categories”, explains the sales director, Matteo Corradi.
“For boys we have Virus Attack”, a 52 x 13′ episode series to be broadcast on the Turner Italia networks which will also handle the distribution of the licensing rights”.
The plot revolves around a multitude of viruses that can change, transform, blend together and reproduce, increasing their super powers, which are threatening the sick, polluted planet Earth.
The incredible discovery of a brilliant scientist makes it possible for five kids to have special DNA that turns them into anti-viruses and, with their agility, courage, intelligence and super powers, they can save the world.

“We will also be continuing sales of “Angel’s Friends”, broadcast on Italia 1″, continues Corradi. “This series has already been purchased by over 50 countries, with Giochi Preziosi holding the master toy license. The company has developed around 400 products for the Italian market, including a TV movie for Christmas 2010 called “Angel’s Friends – Tra sogno e realtà  “” From Dreams to Reality”.
Based on the comic strip created by Simona Ferri which, since its launch in 2007 has rapidly conquered the Italian market, “Angel’s Friends” is dedicated to a target audience of 6 “” 13 year olds.

The third new product is the TV series, “Puppy in my pocket”, based on the famous toys, which will be a co-production between Mondo Tv and Meg Toys, the Californian-based company that owns the brand, and Giochi Preziosi (Editor’s note: also co-producer of the “Gormiti” cartoon).
“The series”, announces Corradi, “will be broadcast on the Mediaset networks from mid October and on Cartoon Network in 2011”.
The cute “In my Pocket” toys arrived in Italy in 2005, winning over the hearts of little boys and girls.
Now there are many different types of these small, slightly furry little animals, the stars of the cartoon series, ranging from the “Zoo in my Pocket” to the “Kitty” or “Puppy in My Pocket” collections, and many more, with kids wanting to collect them all.
Mondo TV’s 14 strong sales staff in five continents also has one of the biggest animation libraries in Europe with over 1,500 episodes of TV series and more than 50 feature films for cinema and home video. Thanks to its “old” library as well as the new episodes of “Angel’s Friends”, the turnover for Mondo TV S.p.A. increased in 2009 from 4.6 million Euros the previous year to around 8.6 million Euros, with a Production Value of 10.3 million Euros and a net profit of +1 million Euros.
