While it is true that movies maximize the places used as locations, it is also true that often the places themselves enhance the creativity that cinema draws on. This is the case of Cineresidenze, a high level training project by the Fondazione Marche Cinema Multimedia, financed by the Regione Marche and the Department of Youth and National Civil Service of the Italian Prime Minister’s Office.
Located in Villa Nappi in Polverigi (AN), a 19th century villa just a stone’s throw away from the Parco del Monte Conero, in the province of Ancona, “Cineresidenze” is organized as a series of master classes where young professionals can learn moviemaking techniques. The classes are held over eight weekends, from May to October, during which “maestros” such as Giuseppe Piccioni, Massimo Gaudioso for Scriptwriting, Gianluca Arcopinto and Ciro Scognamiglio for Production and Set Organization, Lia Francesca Morandini for Costumes, Giancarlo Basili for Sets, Daniele Ciprì for Direction of Photography, Marco Parollo for Sound, Francesca Archibugi, Luigi Lo Cascio and Lucia Mascino for Movie and Actor Directing, hold
regular workshops.”With this project”, explains Anna Olivucci, manager of the Marche Film Commission, “we want to give young people who are already interested in this field a chance to improve their professional skills through lessons imparted by true maestros of Italian Cinema.”
