LAZIO/Five movies at the Festival

Five films supported by the Roma Lazio Film Commission will be presented in the various sections of the Venice Film Festival: in Orizzonti- Horizons we find the terrible story of Stefano Cucchi (“On my skin” by Alessio Cremonini with Jasmine Trinca and Alessandro Borghi, a Cinemaundici, Lucky Red, Netflix production) and “The Prophecy of the Armadillo”, a theatrical adaptation of the comic strip of the same name by Zerocalcare directed by Emanuele Scaringi and produced by Fandango with Rai Cinema.
In Competition there is “Capri-Revolution” by Mario Martone (Indigo Film-Rai Cinema), while Venice Days features “Ricordi?” by Valerio Mieli, with Luca Marinelli, Linda Caridi and Giovanni Anzaldo, produced by BiBi Film Tv, Les Films D’Ici and Rai Cinema, with the contribution of the MiBAC [Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities] and the support of the Regione Lazio. Also supported by the Regione Lazio are “Saremo giovani e bellissimi” by Letizia Lamartire, produced by CSC Production, Rai Cinema, D.O. Consulting & Production with the contribution of the MiBAC, the collaboration of Anna Mode Costumes,F.lli Cartocci, Margutta Digital, and the support of the Regione Lazio, Regione Emilia-Romagna and the Emilia-Romagna Film Commission.

The active sets in Lazio include: “Il Pendolo” by Aureliano Amadei (production by Maiora), “Bugiardi” by Volfango De Biasi – Prod. Medusa Film with Picomedia and “Freaks out”, the second film by Gabriele Mainetti(Goon Film, Lucky Red).
Cinecittà hosts the set of “Six underground” by Michael Bay, co-funded by Netflix; Netflix is also filming the TV series “Baby” directed by Andrea De Sica and Anna Negri based on a true story and set on Lake Martignano, while Civita di Bagnoregio is the location of “The night child” by Francesco Cinquemani (prod. IIF Lucisano).
Rome is the protagonist of the Indian film “Roam Rome Mein”, produced by Rising Star Entertainment and starring the famous Indian actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
The executive production service, in collaboration with the Roma Lazio Film Commission, is handled by ODU Movies which will be bringing another Indian production to Lazio in the fall, “Amour”, produced by UV Creations.
