Filming got underway in March in Civitavecchia (and then in Rome) on “Il Re” by Giuseppe Gagliardi, the first Italian prison drama and the first TV series directed by Luca Zingaretti (“Inspector Montalbano”), which will be broadcast on Sky. Zingaretti also stars in the series alongside Isabella Ragonese. It is a Wildside and The Apartment production.
“Un Professore” by Alessandro D’Alatri with Alessandro Gassmann and Claudia Pandolfi is also being filmed in Rome. Produced by Massimo Del Frate for Banijay Studios Italy with Rai Fiction, it is based on TV3 Catalunya’s original format “Merlì” distributed by Lagardère. The scheduled 22 weeks of filming will end in May 2021.
Claudio Amendola and Miguel Gobbo Diaz play Carlo Guerrieri and Malik Soprani on the set of the third season of “Nero a metà”, directed by Amendola, produced by Cattleya and Rai Fiction for Rai 1. Filming will continue in and around Rome until August.
Rome and Mount Soratte will instead host filming on “Robbing Mussolini” by Renato De Maria, produced by BiBi Film for Netflix, starring Matilda De Angelis and Pietro Castellitto.
