INTERNAZIONALIZATION/The Silk Road

“Hui He, the Soprano from the Silk Road”, the documentary directed by Niccolò Bruna and Andrea Prandstraller, currently in post-production, is an interesting case because it attempts to build “a bridge between two cultures”, between China and Italy.
This is proudly emphasized by the producer and President of the Association of Italian Documentary-makers – Doc/it, Agnese Fontana. “The project”, the producer explains, “is the result of work carried out previously at the Verona Arena to make the documentary “Magicarena”, in 2013. We met a great Soprano, Hui He, and my partner, Rosario Di Girolamo, and I fell in love with her story”.
The film follows Hui He around the world’s major opera houses, Beijing, Rome, Oslo, Paris, Verona and Palermo, as well as at the Conservatory of Xi’an where she trained.
It is a joint co-production (budget € 645,000) between Agnese Fontana for Le Talee (IT) and Duan Peng for Sunnyway Culture Media Co. (CHN), equally dividing up the number of days of lming between Europe and China, as well as the distribution of the regions for foreign sales.
