The Apulia Film Commission opened the Bari Cineport in January 2010.
It will be opening another one in Lecce next spring.
Compared to similar structures which have already been inaugurated in other regions “” the first was created in Turin and has distinguished itself as a “home from home for producers” “” the Cineports in Apulia are not just equipped to host audiovisual productions during filming, but also for carrying out activities directed towards the general public.
Located at the Fiera del Levante, alongside the Apulia Film Commission, the Bari Cineport occupies an area of 1200 sq. meters.
Here, production companies can have access “” free of charge “” to offices with workstations, wi-fi internet, telephone and fax lines, casting rooms, costumes, make-up and wigs, a storage area, a set and scenery workshop, a parking area for film vehicles, bars and areas for holding exhibitions and installations.
Costing around 600,000 Euros, the Cineport was realized thanks to the Framework Program Agreement “Sensi Contemporanei” of the Ministry for Economic Development.
It is around 6 Km from the airport, less than 3 Km from the railway station and one and a half kilometers from the Port.
Some areas inside the Bari Cineport can also be used for activities which are open to the general public, such as exhibitions and installations.
It has a 94-seater movie theater for screening Full HD digital movies, with Dolby Surround system, a simultaneous translation system, remote video direction and a conference desk.
The theater can also be used for playing live music.
The Lecce Cineport has also been designed for professionals as well as the general public and is located inside the former Manifatture Knos, a cultural center with a strong international character that covers an area of 4000 sq. meters and hosts numerous interdisciplinary cultural projects.
Theatrical and audiovisual productions can access an area of 450 sq. meters .
The Lecce Cineport is just over 3 Km from the very central Piazza Sant’Oronzo and the railway station.
The nearest airport is Brindisi, which is less than 50 Km away
