EVENTS/MIA and the Rome Film Festival

MIA, the International Audiovisual Market which will be held in Rome from 19 to 23 October, will be the occasion selected by the President of the Lazio Region, Nicola Zingaretti, to promote the Fondo Lazio Cinema International [Lazio In- ternational Cinema Fund] to the national and international members of the trade attending the Market.

At the Hotel Bernini, the venue of the Market, the Roma Lazio Film Commission [RLFC] will present the latest edition of Italian Film Boutique which, this year, will be full of new features. The initiative was realized together with Ass.for.Seo and promotes the encounter between Italian cinema and international interlocutors, buyers, sellers and broadcasters, with networking initiatives and

dedicated screenings aimed at valorizing and supporting the sale and distribution of Italian audiovisuals abroad.

The RLFC also con rms its presence at the Rome Film Fest (26 October – 5 November), where it will propose two training projects.
CineCampus Masterclass – Lessons in Cinema (X edition 26-30 Oc- tober – Auditorium Arte) aimed at young students and professionals in the theatrical and audiovisual sector, with masterclasses dedicated to production, acting, directing and sector teachers. At previous editions personalities of the caliber of Marco Bellocchio, Giuliano Montaldo, Marco Risi, Giuseppe Piccioni, Edgar Reitz, Giovanni Veronesi, Paolo Virzì, Valeria Golino, Claudio Santamaria, Goran Paskalievic, Paolo Genovese and Paola Cortellesi have met with the students.

Also confirmed is the rendezvous with CineCampus Atelier –Cinema technique (31 October 3 November – Auditorium Arte), an initiative that started last year, which is dedicated to sector technical professions with specific lessons on filming, viewing, sound and special effects techniques as well as the new methods of filming with drones. The first edition featured the participation of director of photography Luciano Tovoli (director of photography for Antonioni, Scola, Verdone), Inti Carboni (assistant director for Sam Mendes on “Spectre”, Verdone, Patty Jenkins for “Wonder Woman”) and Silvia Moraes (sound editor on “The Great Beauty”, “The Young Pope”).

As part of the collaboration with “Alice nella Città”, the RLFC is supporting the initiative Alice Panorama Italia which will take place at the Cinema Admiral and involves the scheduling of works by young, up-and-coming filmmakers, paying particular attention to all the recent projects developed and lmed in Lazio that have never been seen by the general public.
