EVENTS/Coppola returns

The Rome Film Festival, from 18th “” 27th October, will open with “Elizabeth “” The Golden Age”, followed by a movie directed by Shekhar Kapur who, ten years ago, revealed the talent of Cate Blanchett to the world.
There is also a lot of excitement for “Youth without Youth”, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, who returns behind the camera after a long absence.
“Lions for Lambs” marks the return of another great Hollywood director, Robert Redford, who also stars alongside Tom Cruise and Meryl Streep. “Juno” is an amusing comedy presented by Fox Searchlight, while Halle Berry is the star and producer of another independent film (distributed by Universal worldwide), “Things we lost in the fire”, directed by Susanne Bier starring Benicio del Toro.
“Seta”, produced by Domenico Procacci, along with a group of independent Canadian movies, finds Michael Pitt and Keira Knightley bringing to life the characters created by the pen of Alessandro Baricco.
The director is Franà§ois Girard (“The red violin”).
Fandango also proposes “Dr.Plonk” by Rolf De Heer and the documentary by Marc Evans “In prigione tutta la mia vita”.
There will be a good Italian presence in the various Festival sections: Dario Argento with “La terza madre”, Carlo Mazzacurati with “La giusta distanza”, Silvio Soldini with “I giorni e le nuvole” and Guido Chiesa con “Le pere di Adamo”.
