
The Emilia Romagna Film Commission will be at the Interna- tional Venice Film, Festival with three productions supported by the Audiovisual Fund.
“My brother chases dinosaurs”, Stefano Ciprani’s debut work dramatized by Bologna’s Fabio Bonifacci, realized in collaboration with Giacomo Mazzariol, the author of the bestseller of the same name published by Einaudi, will be at Giornate degli Autori/Venice Days. Starring Alessandro Gassmann, Isabella Ragonese and Rossy De Palma, the film was entirely shot in Pieve di Cento with some forays into Bologna, Cento and Anzola dell’Emilia (through Carpigiani and its Gelato Museum).
It is an Italian-Spanish coproduction between Paco Cinematografica, Neo Art Producciones and Rai Cinema, and will be released in Italian movie theaters from next September 5 with Eagle Pictures.
“Il Varco” by Federico Ferrone and Michele Manzolini has been selected for Sconfini, the arthouse and experimental section.
This is a creation documentary on the power of Memory constructed using real publicand private repertoires from the archives of the Istituto Luce and Home Movies – the national Archive of family movies, the work’s co-producers together with Kiné.
The special event of the Settimana Internazionale della Critica/Inter- national Critics’ Week, is the short film ‘debut’ of Gianni Amelio, “Pas- satempo”, filmed in Piacenza and Bobbio, involving the pupils of the Fondazione Fare Cinema di Bobbio, directed by Marco Bellocchio, starring Roberto Carpentieri and Daoda Sissoko.
Like every year the Cineteca di Bologna will once again be at the Lido, in competition in the “Classics” section with two restorations.
The prestigious L’Immagine Ritrovata Laboratory also collaborated on the restoration of “Exstase”(Ecstasy) by Gustav Machatý, the pre-opening event of the International Venice Film Festival screened in the Sala Darsena at the Lido on the evening of August 27.
During the Festival the Emilia-Romagna Film Commission will be at the disposal of Italian and foreign members of the trade to illustrate its Fund and the services offered to productions.
