The support for audiovisual production in Campania in 2017 amounted to over € 6 million.
The financing was divided into two funds: Contributions supporting theatrical and audiovisual productions in Campania (POC 2014 – 2020) – a total of € 4 million – and the Cinema Plan related to the new Regional Law (no. 30 dated 17/10/2016).

The former will be used to fund, among other things, the TV series “I Bastardi di Pizzofalcone” and “My Brilliant Friend”, which are currently filming in the region.
21 films and TV series have been granted financing (including “Napoli Velata” by Ozpetek, “Capri Batterie” by Mario Martone, “Dogman” by Matteo Garrone, and the TV drama “Rocco Chinnici”), as well as 24 documentaries and 17 shorts and web products.

The Cinema Plan also includes a production fund of € 2,050,000: out of the 71 applications received, 11 films were admitted, 19 documentaries or shorts and 8 web projects. Among the projects selected were alstwo feature films which will be filmed in Campania in the spring: Salerno will be the location of “Il Campione”, the directing debut of Ciro D’Emilio produced by Lungta Film, whilst Castelvolturno will host the shooting of the new film by Edoardo De Angelis, the working title of which is “Il vizio della speranza”, produced by O’Groove and Tramp.
Also awarded funding is “5 è il numero perfetto” by Igort, the famous cartoonist who sets in a dark, rainy ‘70s Naples the story of an old retired “guappo” (Toni Servillo) who, in order to avenge the death of his son causes a Camorra war to break out. The film is produced by Propaganda Italia together with Jean Vigo in co-production with Potemkino (Belgium), Mact Film (France) and Cité Film (France). The cast also includes Carlo Buccirosso and Valeria Golino.
