Filming has just started in Campania around Nisida, Coroglio and Piedigrotta, on “In buona compagnia” (working title) by Cristina Comencini, produced by Lumière & Co., starring Giovanna Mezzogiorno and Vincenzo Amato. This is a story about Alice, originally from Naples, who returns to her hometown in the ’90s following the death of her father.
Portici and some outside scenes in Naples (Piazza Garibaldi, Porta Capuana and Piazza Mercato) will be the locations of “Rosa, Pietra e Stella” (working title) by Marcello Sannino, produced by Parallelo 41with Bronx Film and P.F.A.
The movie, which will be filmed at the end of February, is about Carmela, a woman who is attempting to make ends meet with various occasional jobs until, after losing her home and custody of her twelve year old daughter, she decides to get her life back together with the support of Tarek, an Algerian who has lived in Naples for 20 years.
Also arriving soon in Naples is “Il Commissario Ricciardi” (working title), the TV series based on the novels by Maurizio De Giovanni and set in 1930s Naples, produced by Clemart and directed by Alessandro D’Alatri.
The Film Commission Regione Campania is assisting the production’s search for locations: in addition to the center of Naples and the port area, some period reconstructions are also envisaged.
