Campania returns to the Cannes Film Festival with Matteo Garrone and his “Dogman” filmed almost entirely in Castel Volturno with the contribution of the Regional Government of Campania (POC Fund 2014-2020).
In the meantime, filming has started in the region on the fourth season of the series “Gomorra” as well as “Il Campione”, the debut movie by Ciro D’Emilio, produced by Lungta Film.
“La Banda”, the movie produced by Palomar that Claudio Giovannesi is filming in Campania, is also based on a novel by Saviano (“La paranza dei bambini”): initially filming will take place in the historic center of Naples and should then move on to the areas of Sannio and Benevento.
Carlo Luglio is instead filming “Ladri di Cardellini”, a comedy about the world of a shabby group of poachers who are planning the heist of the century at an important poultry fair, produced by Minerva Pictures Group and Bronx Film.
Production has also started on “5 è il numero perfetto” by the famous cartoonist Igort, produced by Propaganda Italia, with Toni Servillo, Carlo Buccirosso and Valeria Golino, and “Martin Eden” by Pietro Marcello, produced by Avventurosa, an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Jack London, set in the 1980s.
