“Loulou de Montmartre” is the Animation Band’s top proposal for MipTv.
It is a 26 part series of half hour cartoons set in Paris at the turn of the century, about a young orphan girl who dreams of becoming a ballerina.
“It is co-produced with France and, like the other series involving Rai Fiction”, explains Marco Marcolini, the Milanbased animation company’s producer, “it has just debuted on France 3 and will soon be shown in Italy on Rai 2.
In France it is linked to a series of books and we hope to do the same thing here.
Another important new title is “Il mondo di Stefi”, a 52 part series of 13 minute cartoons which will be in competition in the Ragazzi category at the next edition of “Cartoons on the Bay”.
We have also had a lot of interest from international distributors in this series and we will be weighing up all our options at Mip.
The commercialization continues of “Blanche”, a series for very young children, starring a cute lamb, which has been sold to various countries in Europe “” including Scandinavia, the UK and Eastern bloc countries “” as well as in Asia (Thailand, Korea, Hong Kong), and South Africa. These titles are joined by “LMN’s” (Editor’s note: pronounced Elements), cartoons for Rai 2, and “I Cosi” by Bruno Bozzetto, which was previously aired on Rai Tre”.
